One of the mistakes I made was doing half-effort workouts. I thought I was doing a good workout but in reality I could have given more. This is where I found group exercise classes come in. There is something about working out with a group that makes you push yourself harder and further than you would on your own. At first I scoffed at the idea of doing a class but I eventually gave one a try. I was completely wrong about everything I thought about group exercise classes. Half-way through my first one I thought I was going to puke! I had never felt that way before. That is how you know it is a good workout. I highly recommend doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) style classes. These usually alternate between sets of cardio exercises and weight exercises with dumbbells. This combination will burn fat like no other! I found it gave me amazing results after I started doing them regularly.

At first I was kind of nervous about doing a class. I was very self-conscious and thought everyone was looking at me make a fool of myself. A lot of people have this fear. That is actually the complete opposite of the situation. No one is actually paying attention to you or anyone else really. Everyone ends up getting in their own zone and is focused on themselves and not you. I still went and gave a class a try because I had become determined to change my life at any cost. So I faced my fears and completely destroyed them.

When you are doing these classes you want to push yourself. Challenge yourself. You will find that you can do more and go further than you thought you could. It will be well worth the pain. The pain is temporary, the pride you will feel when you accomplish something will be forever.
